Scientists Reprogram Skin Cells to Hunt Down and Shrink Brain Tumors

by February 6, 2017

Brain cancer is something that is not easy to treat, to say the least. It can sometimes spread it’s roots throughout the brain tissue making it impossible to remove through surgery.

This is devastating as it has led to terrifyingly low survival rates. However, researchers have a method well on the way of how to kill this cancer and get rid of it. They hope to do this via stem cells. It appears there has been a lot of research and experimentation done regarding stem cells and the things we can potentially do with them.

Researchers intend to use stem cells to track down the cancer, kill it and then remove it. In doing this they have managed to shrink the brain tumors in mice to two to five percent their original size. This is something that has already been tried before using neural stem cells to track down and deliver cancer-killing drugs to tumors in mice. The only real issue with this method is that it is a bit complicated to get neural stem cells from humans.

When it comes to getting neural stem cells in the human body the safest way is a two step process that takes a long time. When doing something like this time is everything. These people are dealing with brain cancer and it is only going to get worse if nothing is done about it. Luckily the research team I first mentioned has found a way to actually speed up the process.

By removing one of the steps completely they have been able to produce neural stem cells from adult skin cells in just four days. Of course, in order to be able to achieve this the skin cells were treated with a plethora of biochemicals it is still quite interesting. These neural stem cells have been tested and are said to behave exactly as the ones created using the two-step method.

According to Hingtgen one of the researchers, they are on their way to something great. We will soon be able to treat glioblastoma via stem cell treatment. He mentioned they are only one or two years away from clinical trials. This meaning in the very near future brain cancer may be something much easier to deal with.

Dietary Changes Now Proven to Effectively Treat Major Depression

by February 6, 2017

Depression is something that affects more than fifteen million people here in America. It has been estimated that around ten percent of the American population has resorted to taking some sort of antidepressants.

Treating your problems is fine but doing it the wrong way is never the answer. There are a lot of problems associated with antidepressants. These things include addiction, unfavorable side-effects, and costs. Some of these antidepressants actually have an increased risk of suicide.

Sure, these pills may help with the short-term depression issues but when it comes to curing depression pharmaceuticals are not the way.  One study recently conducted by Deakin University in Australia has shown that major depression can actually be cured with the right changes in a person’s diet. In this study, researchers looked at adults who were suffering from major depression and evaluated their progress with specific dietary changes over about a three month period. This revealed which types of foods helped with depression the most.

“The dietary group received information and assistance to improve the quality of their current diets, with a focus on increasing the consumption of vegetables, fruits, whole grains, legumes, fish, lean red meats, olive oil and nuts, while reducing their consumption of unhealthy ‘extras’ foods, such as sweets, refined cereals, fried food, fast-food, processed meats and sugary drinks.”

By taking control of your body you will be able to combat depression properly. In addition to the study done at Deakin University connecting the quality of one’s diet to treating depression, a scientific link has been found between depression and inflammation in the body. This is quite interesting because inflammation can be influenced heavily by the foods in which we consume.

It is very important that we do our best to try natural alternatives to things. Would you prefer eating healthily over popping pills? I know I would. If you are dealing with depression issues and either cannot afford medication or do not wish to deal with the terrible side effects of antidepressants then a diet change is what you need.

Ditch the Inhaler and Make This Juice to Cure Asthma Attacks!

by February 6, 2017

People who suffer from asthma deal with things like shortness of breath on an almost daily basis. If someone you know has trouble breathing they very well may have asthma.

Asthma attacks are the result of some sort of allergy or sensitivity. When someone has an asthma attack their lungs have become irritated causing their muscles to tighten and for their body to cause phlegm to overwhelm the throat. People who deal with asthma use inhalers to relieve these things. Of course, when things are urgent it is ideal to use your inhaler. However, using it all the time is not good using as needed is completely understandable.

When it comes to reducing asthmatic issues it is important to change your diet increase your healthy food intake and decrease the unhealthy. Eat foods that will lower inflammation and increase energy. Always get foods that are rich in vitamin C and eat things like celery.

If you’re looking to eventually cut out your inhaler altogether (I still suggest carrying one in case of emergencies) then using foods as well as juices to do so is possible. Drinking lots of carrot juice is definitely the best place to start. Carrot juice is overflowing with vitamin C.

Leaked Emails Mention Aspartame Causing Holes in Brains of Mice

by February 5, 2017

There was a lot to go through with WikiLeaks John Podesta emails. One, in particular, has shed some light on the artificial sweetener aspartame.

In this email, the treachery involved in getting NutraSweet approved as a food ingredient. Also, going so far as to pointing out how dangerous it actually is. The email chain was forwarded to Podesta by a Wendy Abrams who writes, “I also have a friend who worked for the researchers at University of Chicago (which has a top-rated neurology dept) and the doctors there said when they gave NutraSweet to lab mice, it literally blew holes in their brains. They said they will tell a pregnant woman to drink any amount of alcohol before touching a sip of NutraSweet, it is that bad.” These emails go back and forth for awhile and eventually lead up to an explanation as to how aspartame became legal.

The explanation is as follows:

“Searle – the original developer of aspartame – applied to the FDA for approval to use aspartame in food sweetener for a second time [aspartame was previously banned]. Arthur Hayes Hull, Jr., Reagan’s newly appointed FDA commissioner, proceeded to appoint a 5-person scientific commission to review the board of inquiry’s decision. When it became clear that the panel was going to uphold the ban with a 3–2 decision, Hull placed a sixth member on the commission so the vote would become deadlocked. Then Hull personally broke the tie in aspartame’s favor.”

An FDA report actually lists the many symptoms of aspartame ingestion. So many symptoms and yet it is still being used in our food? These symptoms include depression, memory loss, fatigue, anxiety, headaches, vertigo, irritability, insomnia, weight gain, palpitations, loss of taste, sexual dysfunction, weakness, numbness, joint pain, tinnitus, dizziness, blurry vision, seizures, rashes, and blindness. Aspartame has no place in our diets. It is associated with health issues like Alzheimer’s disease, diabetes, mental retardation, lupus, death, birth defects, fibromyalgia, and more. We should not be ingesting this dangerous carcinogenic substance.

Greed and corruption really has gone too far. We are being force fed poisons like aspartame on a daily basis. We are becoming sick and weak. If you have to time to watch the documentary below I am sure it will give you more than enough reasons to swear off of aspartame for good.

This Is How Much You Should Weigh According To Your Age, Body Shape And Height

by February 5, 2017

Your body weight can affect lots of things that go on in your body. If you aren’t a healthy weight, you might be at risk for some serious health conditions.

Yes, body weight can affect your health in many different ways. Too much stored fat causes an increase in LDL cholesterol and puts you at risk for heart diseases. If you are unsure of whether you are a healthy weight or not, you can determine this by resorting to a BMI Calculator. Also, there is a chart below to help better inform people of the numbers.

BMI stands for body mass index. Body mass index (BMI) is a measure of body fat based on your weight in relation to your height and applies to most adult men and women aged 20 and over. For children aged 2 and over, BMI percentile is the best assessment of body fat. BMI doesn’t measure fat directly. But, research does show that BMI correlates to direct measurements of body fat such as underwater weighing and dual energy X-ray machines.

If you’re curious to know whether or not you are a healthy weight, refer to the chart below. This is a very accurate BMI chart, however, it isn’t directed towards any person under the age of eighteen. Enjoy!
