Ho’oponopono ~ The Hawaiian Art of Healing

by in Health June 22, 2017

“But the truth is it only has to reach you, through me, as we are all one and it all happens inside.” ~ An excerpt from preface by Dr. Ihaleakala Hew Len, author of Zero Limits and Hawaiian shaman and healer.

Ho’oponopono is the Hawaiian art of healing. It consists of practices of shunyata, or the state of stillness. Ho’oponopono means to make something right, right your wrongs, or to take responsibility for your actions and your wrongdoings and make it right. It also means to move on and forgive other people for their wrongdoings. It is based on the principles of love, forgiveness, and gratitude.

“Ho’oponopono is a profound gift that allows one to develop a working relationship with the Divinity within and learn to ask that in each moment, our errors in thought, word, deed, or action be cleansed. The process is essentially about freedom, complete freedom from the past. ~ Morrnah Nalamaku Simeona, Ho’oponopono Master Teacher” The art was first shown in the spotlight when a Hew Len healed a ward of criminally insane prisoners at the Hawaii state hospital with his cleansing meditation.

The most amazing part of the meditation is that Hew Len never even met the patients that he cured. He reviewed each patient’s files and healed them by healing himself.  He improved their behavior pattern and the overall atmosphere of the ward for four years. He compares the brain like a computer; when something is deleted, it only goes to the recycle bin. The subconscious mind processed over 11 million bits of information per second. If you can manage to enter a state of nothingness you must strip your conscious mind of all erroneous thoughts. It clears away the destructive messages that come to our mind.

In the earlier times, according to the theory of the ho’oponopono, if one person behaved criminally then the whole clan and villages felt they were responsible for that behavior. The mantra for the village was –

“We are responsible, we are sorry, please forgive us.”

We create our own reality and attract beings, situations, and things to ourselves. Our job in such a scenario is to heal that part of us that has brought us to a bad situation. Then, the situation will heal itself.
