New Study Confirms Alzheimer’s and Aluminum Link Can No Longer Be Ignored

by in Environment, Health December 21, 2016

Recently there has been some rumors spreading about aluminum. The rumor states that aluminum can cause Alzheimer’s Disease, and an expert just confirmed that it is true!

Alzheimer’s is a seriously debilitating disease, and is not worth the risk! Put down the aluminum foil, and read about this study.

This rumor is not exactly recent news, as it has been around for years. Scientists have not had enough evidence to tie the metal for the disease, although there is an existential link between the two. Specifically, Chris Exley, a professor in Bioinorganic Chemistry, says that his latest research confirms the rumor. Exley studies his research at Keele University in England. The study was done on the brain of a man who died from Alzheimer’s disease following an occupation that played a prominent role in the accumulation of Aluminum dust. Doctors have said for some time now that aluminum is a harsh neurotoxin. Studies have shown aluminum playing a direct role in not only Alzheimer’s disease, but also Autism, Parkinson’s, and Dementia.

The study done at Keele University states that the 66-year-old man had an aggressive form of the disease. He worked 8 years in an occupation that required heavy exposure to aluminum dust. Scientists say that it “suggests a prominent role for the olfactory system and lungs in the accumulation of aluminum in the brain.” This is not the first time high aluminum levels have been found in the tissues of someone who died from Alzheimer’s disease. For example, in 2004, high aluminum levels were found in the tissues of a British woman who died of early-onset Alzheimer’s. This was 16 years after an industrial accident dumped 20 metric tons of aluminum sulfate into her local drinking water. And there are many studies showing elevated aluminum levels in living individuals displaying a wide range of neurological symptoms.

Although aluminum may not be the only contributing factor to the disease or diseases, but it should be heavily considered due to the evidence of the harmful effects of the toxic metal. Especially considering the fact that aluminum is everywhere. It is in certain foods such as baking powder, self-rising flour, salt, and even baby formula! Isn’t the FDA supposed to prevent these things from happening? We are literally unknowingly feeding our children aluminum! It can also be found in common cosmetic products such as makeup, sunscreens, deodorants, and shampoos.

You might want to think twice the next time you plan on cooking food in aluminum foil too. Research shows that cooking red meat in foil increases the aluminum percent anywhere from 89% to 378%! Poultry is also increased by 76 to 214%. Longer cooking times and higher cooking temperatures equal a higher concentration of aluminum in the food you plan on eating.

Basically, aluminum is the same amount of harmful for your central nervous system, as cigarettes are for your lungs. Once in your body, it travels around easily, unimpeded, piggybacking on your iron transport system. In the meantime, be very cautious when it comes to aluminum. The cases of Alzheimer’s have skyrocketed and there has to be a reason why. Although we haven’t learned a whole lot about what causes this disease, aluminum shows a significant increase in the risk of it! It just isn’t worth it in my opinion. I’ll be avoiding Aluminum at all costs, and I suggest that anyone and everyone do the same.
