Fatty Liver: Causes, Signs and Symptoms, Treatment and Home Remedies

by June 7, 2017

Fatty liver is described as the accumulation of too much fat in the liver. It comes in two forms and each one has different causes with the same symptoms.

There is alcoholic liver disease (ALD) and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). You do not want either one, trust me. There is no medication or surgery as of right now that can treat this issue. The only way to get rid of it is to naturally reverse the issue with lifestyle and dietary changes.

Obviously, the cause of ALD is the excessive consumption of alcohol but obesity and hepatitis C can also contribute. NAFLD causes include things like high cholesterol, diabetes, autoimmune diseases, malnutrition and even advanced aging. If a person has this (either kind) they will be experiencing some sort of signs or symptoms whether it be all of them or just a couple.

The individual will become weak, lose their appetite, and have pain in the abdomen. If you have ALD you will need to stop drinking completely. This is something that should be considered obvious. People suffering from either of these should eat less or no sugary foods and add more fiber into their diets. They need to monitor their blood sugar and cholesterol as well as their weight.

Having a healthy diet and lifestyle will be able to help you much more than you could ever think it would. There are also a few natural remedies that are said to aid in this as well that you can find listed below.

Green Tea: Drinking more green tea can help because it is full of liver-protecting antioxidants. It also promotes weight loss.

ACV: Yes, apple cider vinegar ingests a few tablespoons of this daily. Drink it before your meals and do it every day.

Turmeric Milk: 1 Teaspoon of turmeric in a glass of warm milk before bed every day. This will help because of its anti-inflammatory properties.

Getting healthy really will make a difference. If you are suffering please remember that you do have options. You can get through this if you put your mind and body to it. You will feel a million times better if you improve your diet and lifestyle. Please watch the video below for more information on fatty liver.

Foods That Can Help Feed The Pineal Gland

by June 6, 2017

Our pineal gland is the seat of the soul. It is the part of our physical body that connects us to the spiritual world, and it is certainly something you want to keep healthy.

The pineal gland is located in between both eyes. It is often referred to as the third eye chakra. It is the center of all of your awareness. It produces hormones, one is specifically known as melatonin. Melatonin is often taken as a sleep supplement because it helps regulate the day and night schedule. Practicing expanding one’s consciousness through the third eye has massive benefits and can be completely life changing. Today, we consume lots of foods and chemicals that can negatively affect not only your pineal gland but your whole body. For example, most of the public water is treated with chemicals such as fluoride, which is known to calcify the pineal gland.

If you want to connect to a higher consciousness and expand your mind, you are going to need to keep your pineal gland healthy. Having a fluoride water filter in your home can be extremely beneficial, and be sure to refrain from all processed foods. You can additionally consume foods that are known for having positive effects on the pineal gland.  There are certain nutrients and vitamins that make the pineal gland thrive, and without them, it can diminish. Eating foods with these vitamins and nutrients can breathe life back into your pineal gland and you will never feel better.

There are many foods that are good for the pineal gland. Seaweed vegetables are very good for the pineal gland. They contain high amounts of vitamin D, which causes the seat of the soul to thrive. Other foods that are high in iodine and B vitamins are also amazing for the pineal gland, such as arame, wakame, dulse, and nori. Additionally, dark and leafy greens such as kale, turnip greens, collard greens, mustard greens, Choy, and cabbage are also fantastic for the pineal gland.

If you are looking to increase the health of your pineal gland you will also want to refrain from eating a lot of meat. Meats that are high in mercury such as fish are particularly bad for the pineal gland. Other foods you’ll want to avoid are fluoridated water, carbonated beverages, and fluoridated toothpaste.

How Long To Nap For The Biggest Brain Benefits

by June 6, 2017

Everyone can appreciate a good nap. They are the best way to finish off a busy day and catch up on some rest when you need it. But do you know about the real benefits of naps?

Of course, we perform better when we are well rested. Being sleep deprived can cause a world of issues for you, ranging from physical ailments to emotional issues. Here is what a recent study found:

Whether we are sleep deprived or not, we lose focus at times. And that is precisely where the sleep deprived person lands in a trap. Once we start to lose focus and have received the right amount of sleep, our brain can compensate for that and increase attention. If we are sleep deprived, our brain can’t refocus

Napping has benefits by itself. There have been several studied performed on the effects and benefits of napping. In fact, most doctors and scientists recommend that you have one every day! New studies have shown that napping can actually improve your cognitive function, creative thinking, and memory performance. In one study of 23,681 Greek men over six years, the participants who napped three times per week had a 37% lower risk of dying from heart disease. Naps also significantly improve your memory. They are known to benefit our learning abilities, aiding us to take in more and remember it longer.

In another study, participants memorized illustrated cards to test their memory strength. After memorizing a set of cards, they had a 40-minute break wherein one group napped, and the other stayed awake. After the break, both groups were tested on their memory of the cards, and the group who had napped performed better.

Much to the surprise of the researchers, the sleep group performed significantly better, retaining on average 85 percent of the patterns, compared to 60 percent for those who had remained awake.

But how long are we supposed to nap? 15 minutes, an hour, or maybe even two hours? Well, it really depends on a lot of different circumstances. If you want to know how long you should be napping, watch the video below!

Which Foods Should You Cut to Fight Inflammation

by June 6, 2017

Responsible for many common diseases, such as arthritis, many American battle the effects of inflammation each day. While it is not a topic we generally consider until it impacts us directly, would it not be better to avoid the problem all together than to being researching solutions after the symptoms set in?

Inflammation is a natural process in the body in which the body’s white blood cells and substances that they produce act to protect us from infection from foreign organisms such as viruses and bacteria. In some situations, such as with arthritis, the body’s defense system is getting mixed messages, triggering it to respond when there are no foreign organisms to fend off. This results in the immune system causing damage to its own tissues.

inflammation, causes of inflammation

The good news is that there are steps that you can take to minimize irritation, control current inflammation or reduce the chances of dealing with inflammation all together.

If you are already battling chronic inflammation there are several all natural ways to manage your condition, including natural foods that contact anti-inflammatory properties. Some of the foods found to be most effective include:

Coconut Oil: Effective whether you are ingesting the oil raw, or using it in food preparation, as the nutrients are not destroyed while cooked, coconut oil is found to have many health benefits including reducing the effects of chronic inflammation.

Cayenne Peppers: Cayenne peppers contain capsaicin, which is an anti-inflammatory agent.

Ginger: Used in many ways, each with its own medicinal purposes, it is the root of the ginger plant that proves to be effective when managing this condition, as it contains significant anti-inflammatory properties.

Fish: Fish will help you to manage your symptoms in two different, key ways. First, it contains natural anti-inflammatory properties to help manage the condition. Second, it is known to encourage the body to produce higher levels of pain relieving hormones to provide quick relief.

Cut These 3 Causes of Chronic Inflammation from Your Diet:

  1. Fried Foods

There are many reasons, from a health perspective, that you should consider reducing the amount of deep fried foods in your diet, however few people are aware of the role they play in promoting inflammation! The oils used when frying foods have already been stripped of their nutrients, any possible remnants having been destroyed in the heat used to fry your foods, leaving behind a toxin that has been found to cause inflammation in the body.

  1. Processed Foods and Drinks

The steps taken to process foods has the same impact on these items as the oils referenced above, stripping them of their nutrients, leaving behind toxins and chemicals that are of no benefit to the body. Pre-packaged pastries, processed soups and carbonated beverages are among the biggest culprits.

  1. Allergy Triggering Foods

Triggering food allergies impacts the way in which your body functions, and can in turn trigger the steps that lead to chronic inflammation. While some of the more common allergens are hard to avoid, it is important that you take the time to read food packaging to ensure that you are familiar with what you are eating! Take note of any, and all, food allergies that you experience, regardless of how severe the reactions may be, as even a minor allergy can trigger inflammation in the body.
