WATCH: Former Cop Tries Cannabis as Last Resort to Treat Parkinson’s Disease

Former police captain, Larry Smith, has discovered the amazing benefits of medical marijuana. Mr. Smith suffers from Parkinson’s Disease, a debilitating nerve disease.

After having to take 20 medications per day, he has sought alternative medicine! The results are astonishing and very moving.

Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a chronic and progressive movement disorder, meaning that symptoms continue and worsen over time. Nearly one million people in the US are living with Parkinson’s disease. The cause is unknown, and although there is presently no cure, there are treatment options such as medication and surgery to manage its symptoms. Each person with Parkinson’s will experience symptoms differently. For example, many people experience tremor as their primary symptom, while others may not have tremors, but may have problems with balance. Also, for some people the disease progresses quickly, and in others it does not.

Larry Smith has suffered from Parkinson’s Disease for over 20 years. Amidst his journey through this disease, he was filmed on a documentary ingesting CBD oil. The documentary is called “Ride With Larry”. Cannabidiol (CBD) is a compound found in cannabis that unlike Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) does not produce intoxicating effects.

Researchers began to show enthusiasm to study cannabis in relation to Parkinson’s after people with PD gave anecdotal reports and posted on social media as to how cannabis reduced their tremors. Some researchers think that cannabis might be neuroprotective — saving neurons from damage caused by Parkinson’s. Besides reducing tremors, cannabinoids (the drug molecules in marijuana) have also been studied for use in treating other symptoms, like bradykinesia (slowness caused by PD) and dyskinesia (excess movement caused by levodopa). Despite some promising preclinical findings, researchers have not found any meaningful cannabis benefits for people with Parkinson’s.

While in San Diego, Larry and his wife visit a medical marijuana doctor to obtain a prescription. “These are not the days of Reefer Madness,” Larry observes in the video, referencing a 1936 propaganda film meant to demonize cannabis use. “Yet I and millions of other people can’t have it without facing serious jail time.” Larry currently lives in South Dakota, which does not have a medical marijuana program. According to the description of the video, Larry said: “With a few drops of cannabis oil under his tongue, Larry’s severe dyskinesia (uncontrolled movements), loss of voice, and tremors are calmed within in minutes! We didn’t even edit the footage because the results were so startling.”

The video footage shows Larry putting a drop of cannabis oil under his tongue, before lying down. After only a few minutes, Larry sat up and had a noticeably positive change in behavior. As soon as he sat up, his uncontrolled movements vanished.

This story made me realize that the legality of medical marijuana is literally life impacting for those who not only benefit from it, but depend on it to make it through a regular day. Ancient Yogic Technique Could Help 41 Million People Throw Out Their Antidepressants

A yogic technique known as Kiya yoga has been scientifically proven to be highly effective when it comes to treating those who are suffering from depression. There are currently around 41 million people taking medicine for depression, those people could be doing this yogic technique instead.

This is a breathing technique that is said to increase relaxation and improve things like organ function and stress management. A newly released study shows that this technique is without a doubt effective when it comes to treating depression and is quite the cost effective alternative to medication. This study was published in the Journal of Clinical Psychiatry from researchers in the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.

The study was done by enrolling 25 patients who were suffering from MDD and were depressed even though they had already been on antidepressants for eight weeks. These patients were randomized and were either partaking in the breathing intervention group or a part of the control group waiting. For the first week the patients who were not in the control group completed a six-session program that focused on meditation, stress education, and Kriya yoga.

During their weeks two through eight they attended weekly yoga sessions and also did home practice. Patients who were not in the control group showed significant improvements over the control group. 5 Ways To Identify Plastic Rice

Lately there has been a lot of information circulating the web about the ‘plastic’ rice Chinese producers may be putting in their real rice. We definitely don’t want to eat plastic rice, right?

How can we tell the difference? Is there some sort of way? There is! This plastic rice differs from real rice in more ways than one, and is actually a lot easier to tell apart from real rice when looked at correctly.

Below you will find several tests that will easily help you find out if the rice you’re eating is plastic or not:

  • The Fire Test- Light a few rice kernels on fire if they burn the rice you bought is plastic.
  • The Mortar And Pestle Test- Crush some grains of rice and pay close attention to them. If the rice turns into a fine white powder it is organic and safe to eat if it leaves a yellow tinted stain it is plastic.
  • The Mold Test- Cool a small handful of rice in water then put it in a plastic container. Leave it in a  sunny spot for a few days, organic rice will mold within about two days fake rice will stay intact.
  • The Water Test- Pour a spoonful of rice in a glass of water if it is organic it will fall to the bottom, plastic will not.
  • The Boil Test- When boiling rice if it is plastic it will form a thick layer at the top of the pan.

If you suspect you may be buying plastic rice or just want to be sure that you are not, try the tests I listed. They don’t generally take long and will help you in the long run. I personally would rather check to make sure than to go on eating plastic rice.

Put the white clay into a bowl and mix it with milk and lemon, apply on the affected area and leave it for about 15 minutes, then wash it with cold water.

This Is The Alkaline Diet Every Cancer Patient Needs To Know (Immediately!)
