Boy Nearly Decapitated While Using This Popular Cell Phone Accessory

by January 21, 2017

One 16-year-old by the name of Bradley Willoughby in Queensland, Australia was almost decapitated by something almost completely unthought of. After reading this you may be more cautious about when you use this type of product.

This happened while riding a motorbike on his parents’ farm. Of course, Willoughby thought he had taken all the proper safety measures. His bike was sturdy, his helmet was proper and all was in order. However, he did not think about the fact that under his helmet he was wearing a pair of corded earbuds. The ones we generally use almost every day.

After miscalculating his odds he landed awkwardly on a jump which caused him t skid with his motorbike into a barbed wire fence. This dislocated and broke his ankle as well as gashed his belly open as you can see in the picture below. That sadly was not the worst of his injuries.

Upon impact, because his earbuds were secure under his helmet they did not just pop off as they would in most cases. The rubber coating on the earbud cords was actually pulled off during this and the copper wires within places so much pressure on his neck at this point hat he was as you see in the picture below nearly decapitated. His father removed the cords from him while waiting for the paramedics to arrive. The wires missed his trachea but were quite deep, to say the least.

The family has a warning they would like to share with the world. Something we should all listen to. When it comes to earbuds they are fine to use.

But when it comes to motorcycle/motorbike riding:

“Do not wear wired earphones under a motorbike helmet.”

If you must listen to music when riding please consider a safer alternative. Use the wireless Bluetooth version. These do not risk the chance of decapitation or choking via cords. Be safe!

Dye Your Hair Naturally: These Recipes Will Make Your Hair Perfect

by January 20, 2017

Hair dye contains many harmful chemicals and can really damage your hair. However, studies show that 65% of women will dye their hair anyways. Instead of using toxic hair products, try these natural hair dye recipes!

Hair dye is harmful, but just how harmful is it? Recent studies show that hair dye products can be linked to many different types of cancers! Modern hair dyes are classified as permanent (or oxidative), semipermanent, and temporary. Permanent hair dyes, which make up about 80% of currently marketed products, consist of colorless dye “intermediates” (chemicals called aromatic amines) and dye “couplers.” In the presence of hydrogen peroxide, the intermediates and couplers react with one another to form pigment molecules. Darker colors are formed by using higher concentrations of intermediates. Semi-permanent and temporary hair dyes are non oxidative, and include colored compounds that stain hair directly.

There are over 5000 different chemicals in hair dye. Each one containing its own negative side effects. Some of the chemicals are even classified carcinogens! Over the years, some epidemiologic (population) studies have found an increased risk of bladder cancer in hairdressers and barbers. A report from the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) concluded that some of the chemicals these workers are exposed to occupationally are “probably carcinogenic to humans”

Instead of using those toxic man made hair dyes, use these natural ingredients. They provide many different positive benefits to your hair, and they also have no negative side effects! You can use a lot of natural ingredients—some of which we can find in our kitchens—to create new hair color. It depends on what color you’re looking for, how intense you want it, and how much time you want to spend. Here are some natural ingredients that you can use to dye your hair.

Coffee – Coffee works great if you’re looking to go darker, cover gray hairs, or add dimension to dark tresses. Simply brew a strong coffee (espresso works well), let it cool, and then mix one cup with a couple cups of leave-in conditioner and 2 tablespoons of coffee grounds.

Tea – tea is an excellent alternative to hair dyes. It also contains ingredients that make your hair look healthy, and voluminous.  Like coffee, black tea can help you go darker, and can also help cover gray hairs. If you have lighter hair, though, there are other types of tea you can use. Chamomile, for example, is recommended for blondes, while rooibos may work for redheads.

Beet and Carrot Juice – These two juices can add natural red tints to your current color. Depending on what shade you want, you can use each alone, or mix them together. For a more reddish tinge, use more beet juice (strawberry blonde, deeper red, or auburn). Carrot will produce a quieter reddish orange. Simply apply about a cup of the juice to your hair. You can also mix in some coconut oil to condition hair at the same time. Work it through, wrap hair, and leave on for at least an hour. (These juices stain—wear something to protect your skin and clothes.) Rinse the juice out, and seal with an apple cider vinegar spray.

Henna – Natural henna, on its own, creates a red-orange color, so if you see products offering other colors produced with henna, realize the manufacturers have mixed the henna with other ingredients to achieve those colors. Redheads and brunettes (looking for a bit of auburn) are the best candidates for henna hair color. Be careful with this one—the results can be more orange than you’d like, so you may want to mix a little chamomile in with the paste to tame the color.

The Hallucinogenic Honey of The Giant Himalayan Bees [Video]

by January 19, 2017

One of the most amazing bee species around makes its home in the Himalayan Mountains. They are known as Himalayan Honey Bees (Apis dorsata laboriosa) and are huge!

These bees can grow up to about three centimeters which is pretty insane compared to other bees. They are the largest honey bees in the world. These bees produce a honey that is red in color. It is highly sought after by the people of Nepal and China. This amazing honey is overflowing with health benefits as well.

The honey from these amazing bees can help with issues like hypertension, sexual performance issues, diabetes, and appears to have some psychoactive properties. While it can benefit us in many ways this honey is not easy to collect. The people of the Gurung ethnic group know just how hard it really is as this is how they make their living. They make a trip to extract this honey at least twice each year.

TW_HoneyHunters01_670

These brave people have to climb down the sides of cliffs all the while being swarmed with bees. They risk their lives for the sake of collecting this honey. The effects of this hallucinogenic honey have been documented as far back as 401 BC. Ingesting the right amount of this can produce mild highs and alleviate things like joint pain but if someone were to ingest too much they would likely be sent into a toxic, cold-sweat trip of hallucinations with added symptoms like vomiting and diarrhea that can last for over 24 hours!

What Makes This Honey Hallucinogenic?

That is something that comes from the bees and Nepal’s national flower. Nepal’s national flower is the rhododendron and these bees pick up its pollen. The pollen happens to contain a chemical known as grayanotoxin which becomes infused with their honey and gives it the hallucinogenic powers. There is no way to control the amount of pollen consumed bu the bees so the potency of this honey varies with each season.

For more information on these astonishing people retrieving this honey and the honey itself please take the time to watch the video below. Would you put your life at risk for honey like this? Do you think it is worth is?

10 Side Effects of Birth Control Pills that Your Doctor May Not Tell You

by January 19, 2017

Birth control pills might be the most effective contraceptive, but it definitely isn’t the healthiest. In fact, birth control pills have harmful side effects and they also disrupt normal bodily processes.

Birth control comes in many different shapes and sizes. It is most often referred to as ‘the pill’. Obviously, it comes in pill from, but it also can be injected or implanted. Birth control can have many different negative side effects. It is often praised because it makes your menstrual cramps easier, and slows down the menstrual cycle. Although this may appear to be a good thing, it is actually disrupting your body’s natural processes. Birth control simply isn’t worth it. Mother nature knows what she is doing, and it is not our place to intervene with her processes. Not only that, but after the negative side effects of birth control, who would even want to try? Here are 10 negative side effects of birth control.

birth-control-pills-rev-600x400

Blood Clots – Blood clots are a known side effect of birth control contraceptives. Each year, 7 in 10,000 women experience blood clots. Birth control triples your chances, while pregnancy and childbirth raise your chances five- to ten-fold. As long as you don’t have cardiovascular risk factors such as high blood pressure, diabetes or a pack of cigs in your purse, the increased risk shouldn’t be too serious,” says Dr. Keder. But if you experience any signs of a blood clot, such as chest pain or a swollen leg, immediately stop the pill and see your doctor for an evaluation.

Breakthrough Bleeding – This is most commonly found to be effective of low doses of birth control. It is believed to be caused by hormones making the endometrial lining thinner and more fragile, and even more susceptible to wear and tear! Studies have shown that the longer you take the pill, the less likely you are to experience breakthrough bleeding, but I wouldn’t want to test that theory out.

Mood Swings – Since birth control medications affect your hormones, they also heavily influence your mood. Pill users are twice as likely to be depressed as nonusers, according to research from the Alfred Psychiatry Research Centre in Australia. “It’s really pretty unusual,” says Dr. Keder. “But any emotional side effects can generally be alleviated by using a different pill formulation.” So don’t suffer — tell your doc if you have any worsening of depression symptoms.

Milk Production – This is extremely important to those who are breastfeeding or considering to breastfeed. Birth control medications can decrease breast milk production by up to 5%! Progestin-only pills like Nor-QD or Ortho Micronor don’t interfere with lactation but have to be taken at the same time every day, since they are slightly less effective than combination pills.

Faux Premenstrual Symptoms – Everyone knows the before feeling – the headaches, water retention, breast tenderness, nausea, and mood swings. While these things usually occur before you start the menstruation cycle, with birth control you might experience these out of random.

Libido – OC’s slash libido-friendly testosterone in two ways: First, they quiet the ovaries, halting their production of testosterone. Second, the liver pumps out a protein called the sex hormone-binding globulin (SHBG), which gloms onto sex hormones (including testosterone) like bargain shoppers on Black Friday sales. But while OC’s lower testosterone levels in all women, they lower libido only in some, Dr. Keder says. And even if the Pill does affect your mojo, plenty of other factors — like anxiety about getting preggers — affect it, too. If you have serious problems below the belt, ask your doctor about switching to a different med.

Destroys Good Digestive Bacteria – Birth control pills actually destroy the beneficial bacteria in your intestines, making you more susceptible to yeast overgrowth, lower immunity, and infection.

The Body Ecology System of Health and Healing is unique because of our understanding and focus on the inner ecosystem. With a healthy inner ecosystem, good bacteria and yeast (microflora) thrive in your intestines, helping you to digest food, protect you from illness and disease, and absorb and manufacture vital nutrients.

Disrupts Ovulation – The synthetic hormones contained in birth control regulate release and timing of specific hormones in the body to prevent ovulation. This is not how the normal release of hormones plays out in a naturally occurring menstrual cycle. It is necessary, as you know, to ovulate a mature, healthy follicle (egg) in order to achieve a natural pregnancy. The Pill prevents the maturation of a follicle for ovulation, one of the ovaries most important jobs. Over time, the ovaries may “forget” how to do their job on their own because they haven’t been signaled with the right hormones at the correct time in the menstrual cycle.

Cervical Mucus Change – The Pill has been shown to thicken cervical mucus so that sperm cannot reach the egg. Healthy cervical mucus is important for conception because it helps sperm travel through the vagina and the cervix to meet and fertilize an egg.

Damages the Lining of The Uterus The Pill changes the uterine lining to make it unreceptive to the implantation of a fertilized egg. By controlling the body’s estrogen and progesterone levels with synthetic hormones, the Pill does not allow for the proper levels of progesterone to build a healthy uterine lining for implantation. Many women begin taking the pill at a very young age and don’t stop until they want to begin trying to conceive. The Pill doesn’t cause infertility, but impacts long-term fertility by “silencing a woman’s biological clock for so long that, in some cases, they forget it’s ticking away”. In other cases, women ignore or forget they are dealing with a fertility issue because the symptoms have gone away.
