For information on foods that are alkaline and foods that are acidic please take the time to watch the videos below. The things we eat have a big impact on our health. We should always be aware.
For many people, Xanax is their go-to when it comes to anxiety. This is especially bad because most people are unaware of the short and long term side effects of Xanax. Typical side effects include things like shortness of breath, nausea, dry mouth, irritability, excessive talking, hyper-salivation, anterograde amnesia, skin rashes, and dizziness. Sounds pretty lame, right? It gets worse. More serious side effects include things like memory issues, hallucinations, paranoia, and seizures.
There is a highly possible physical dependency and addiction when it comes to using Xanax. Tolerance develops quickly and leads patients to start taking higher doses. Luckily for us, there is a natural alternative for Xanax, it is known as L-theanine. This is a potent amino acid that is most commonly found in teas made from the Camellia sinensis plant. This acts as a relaxing agent without sedative effects. It has no negative side effects, unlike Xanax.
Cracked heels are something we all have to deal with at some point in our lives. This issue most often occurs in the warmer months.
It can be uncomfortable and embarrassing depending on the severity. If you enjoy wearing sandals or flip flops during the warm months you don’t have to give them up just because your feet are a bit cracked. This remedy will have them looking and feeling better in no time!
Soak your feet in warm water for fifteen minutes and then scrub them with this paste to remove any dead skin.
You can do this foot scrub a few times a week or as needed. This works because the ingredients together exfoliate and get rid of the dead skin. Your skin will be soft and crack free in no time at all.
As our society has shifted towards the acceptance of natural or ‘real’ beauty, cosmetic conglomerates have had to follow suit. However, Dove, the beauty company that set the stage for the ‘real beauty’ movement, has been marketing products that are far from real.
Dove has followed closely along with beauty trends since their company began in 1957. Their first mega-product was the ‘beauty bar’ that contained cleansing creams that were trendy for that time. In the 60’s they began featuring real women, who discussed the benefits of using their products. Later, in the 90’s they began advertising their soaps as being low alkaline. In 2004, they launched the official campaign for real beauty. They later began the Dove Self-Esteem fund to fight eating disorders.
And while we have to give them credit where credit is due, for beginning a revolutionary campaign for women in this day and age, it seems that their products don’t quite fit the ‘real’ motif they are aiming for. On the contrary, they are actually laden with toxic and dangerous ingredients that are far from real.
Here are three of their most popular products and the ingredients they contain:
While the ‘go fresh’ line claims to be “gentle on your skin’ and contain ‘nourishing formulas’ the above-listed ingredients are anything but fresh and nourishing.
“It’s comforting shea butter and warm vanilla fragrance leaves you feeling balanced. And because it’s a Dove body lotion, it also contains our unique DeepCare Complex, a blend of natural nutrients for the skin and rich essential oil, to help gradually improve skin starting deep down*, making it an ideal body lotion for dry skin.”
As an example of the toxic chemicals contained in these products, Cyclopentasiloxane, which is listed around the beginning has been deemed by Environment and Health Canada as a toxic substance. It is otherwise known as D5 and has been linked to infertility, interference with hormone functioning and more.
To be able to better understand the toxins listed above, here are a few examples:
Sodium Hydroxide– The CDC lists this chemical as being corrosive, giving a burning sensation, promoting sore throat, shortness of breath, coughing, skin burns, blisters, redness, severely burning the eyes, and possibly causing abdominal collapse.
Triethanolamine- Triethanolamine is the byproduct of two toxic substances: ethylene oxide and ammonia. Triethanolamine also poses the potential for skin, hair and eye irritation and inflammation on a short or long-term basis. Over time, it can cause chemical damages. During clinical trials on animals, high doses of Triethanolamine caused liver, bladder and testicular cancer.
Methylisothiazolinone– Methylisothiazolinone poses a risk for a variety of health issues. From inhalation toxicity to possible neurotoxicity, this particular chemical is a “doozy.” Rats that were exposed to concentrated varieties showed significant body weight gain and death.
Unfortunately, that is merely three out of hundreds of chemicals listed in their product lines. And while some may be seemingly innocent, others are absolutely not. Instead, they are a noxious pool of chemicals that are dangerous in a variety of ways. However, there are natural alternatives, especially concerning moisturizing and skin care.
Here are 15 all-natural beauty alternatives that work:
Costco is one of the largest distributors of organic food products here in the United States. This is something that comes to most people as a surprise.
Costco has up until now only worked with one partner, the Sand Diego-based produce wholesaler Andrew & Williamson Fresh Produce. While other retailers have helped farmers financially through loan programs in a similar manner this is one of the only initiatives I have seen in which the farmers were encouraged to go organic. As you may be aware retail suppliers have thus far not been behind organic foods because of how conventional farming is these days.
The land needed to grow organic food is scarce and usually extremely expensive on top of that, this makes Costco’s initiative quite impressive. The demand for organic produce has increased dramatically thus causing companies like Costco to make changes in order to meet the people’s needs. This is amazing! Costco has been doing their part for awhile now when it comes to increasing the supply available for organic foods.
They have been buying cattle for awhile now and contracting with owners of organic fields in Nebraska to have ranchers raise their livestock. This for their organic ground-beef program. The project in the works for helping local farmers grow organic produce will be helping them to thrive and reduce our need for imported food products. Knocking out two birds with one stone in a sense.
Old-fashioned light bulbs have been somewhat replaced by eco-friendly energy saving bulbs. This is something that was originally intended to be a good thing but has turned out to be a disaster.
These CFL bulbs can cause things like migraines, cluster headaches, seizures, fatigue, and anxiety. It is safe to say we shouldn’t be using them in the first place. If you have one of these bulbs in your home get rid of it!
Get some cardboard or stiff paper, sticky tape, damp paper towels or wet wipes, and a glass jar with a lid.
Cleanup
Use the cardboard to scoop up the glass pieces.
Use the sticky tape for the tiniest bits and powder.
Discard these things in the jar.
Depending on where you are cleaning the mess up from check the detailed cleanup plan as needed.
Dispose of the sealed trash.
Post-Cleanup
Do not leave the bulb pieces indoors always throw them away. Some places require that these bulbs be disposed of at a recycling center so you will have to check and see what the disposal requirements are for your town.
Leave the windows and doors open for several hours.
